Kansas SPF-SIG Efforts

In 2006, the state of Kansas was awarded a Strategic Prevention Framework State Incentive Grant to fund efforts to reduce and eliminate underage drinking in the state. The Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services (SRS) distributed this grant among 14 Kansas communities for planning and implementing their SPF-guided efforts.

The Work Group for Community Health and Development is supporting the ongoing and cumulative evaluation of these efforts by supporting communities in data collection and reporting via the Online Documentation and Support System. The communities access the ODSS through the SPF-SIG WorkStation, an online platform that has been created to support the statewide SPF-SIG efforts, as well as to provide each funded community with its own WorkStation space for its collaborative work. In addition to supporting requirements for SPF-SIG reporting, the ODSS and WorkStation allow communities to document their progress and share information with others doing similar work. The SPF-SIG WorkStation is organized so that users can access information and connect with others within their community of place and within their community of practice.

For more information on obtaining your own WorkStation or Online Documentation System to support your SPF-SIG or other efforts, please contact toolbox@ku.edu or (785) 864-0533.
