Nicolazzo Teresita
Teresita Nicolazzo is from Uruguay and attended a bilingual school beginning at the age of 5. While she studied law and psychology at the University of the Republic she also taught English classes. When she was 17, she obtained a Certificate of Proficiency in English from Cambridge University. For most of her life, she worked as an executive bilingual secretary in a variety of regional offices for multinational corporations, including ESSO Standard Oil, XEROX, and Glaxo Smith Kline. In addition to working as a secretary, Teresita was responsible for translating a variety of documents (equipment manuals, patient information booklets, medical, scientific, and financial reports, and reports about human resources) from English to Spanish and vice versa. Now that she has retired, she is beginning a career as a translator in order to take advantage of the translating experience she has enjoyed in the past. She attempts to help those who need it, especially children, animals, and the environment. Because she doesn’t currently have a large work load with other translating responsibilities, Teresita would like to take advantage of her time by contributing her help in support of the noble cause of the CTB. Furthermore, she finds the work to be fulfilling and is proud to work with a group of young people who have the praiseworthy goal of working beyond borders. Teresita is currently translating chapters in the CTB from English to Spanish.
