KU Work Group Services
Mission Statement
The mission of the KU Work Group is to promote community health and development through collaborative research, teaching, and public service. We work with strategic partners, locally and globally, in three domains: a) Community and Public Health (e.g., prevention of substance abuse, violence; promotion of physical activity and healthy nutrition); b) Child/Youth Health and Development (e.g., prevention of adolescent pregnancy; promoting healthy youth development); and c) Community and Capacity Development (e.g., urban neighborhood development; leadership training).

The KU Work Group provides information and training in the fields of community health and development both online and by developing and providing curriculum, classes, seminars, conferences and workshops. Through the Community Tool Box, the KU Work Group also provides on-line instruction, courses and discussions in the field of community health and development. Various training materials are provided in connection with its educational
programs, including, for example, those provided with its “train the trainer” approach.
