Fed Up Honeys "Makes Me Mad" Report
This research paper, composed by 6 young, urban, womyn of color at the Center for Human Environments at the Graduate Center of CUNY, is an exploration of the issues stemming from stereotypes, especially of women and racial minorities in urban populations. The project focuses on the following questions:
1. What is the relationship between the lack of resources (for ex. education) in a community and stereotypes of young urban women of color? What are the impacts of stereotyping on young women well-being?
2. How do stereotypes effect and reinforce your self-image? your understanding of your peers? and your community?
The "Makes Me Mad' report ends with a call to action for community builders and outlines what the communities of the Lower East Side need, from a unique "inside" perspective.
