Question: How much should it cost annually to hire an effective youth mentor for a Chicago Public middle school program. They would mentor African and Hispanic young males (ages 11 - 14), possibly four days a week.
Answer: Rabbi Salter, Thank you so much for sending us this question. Unfortunately, we don't have that kind of information available to us. I would think that a phone call to the directors of other mentoring programs in Chicago might yield personnel costs that would be relevant. I know that many of these programs are run by volunteers, but I am sure that there are some with paid staff. Best of luck in your work!
