Hi! I work in a voluntary sector development agency in the ex-coalfields of Nottinghamshire - yes, we are quite near Robin Hood and Sherwood Forest! My role is Community Care Development Worker but with growing interest in public participation, 'real' evaluation, use of IT (esp databases) to support community initiatives and how community and voluntary groups are coping with changes to our health and local government services.

I am facilitating the creation of safer communities for women, children and other vulnerable people in our rural communities. We have just completed the development of an Action Plan using data collected through community consultations. The Action Plan developed by 50 people representing all sectors of the community. We are now seeking funding for its implementation.
