I am a fulltime Graduate student at UMASS Lowell, majoring in Community Social Psychology. I am also the Teachimg Assistant in Womens Studies at the University.

I manage the Community Environmental Health Assessment project at NACCHO (the National Association of County and City Health Officials) - a membership association serving the nation's local health officials. We are always looking for additional resources which our members may find useful - thanks for some great information.

I work with Kansas City Neighborhood Alliance in Kansas City Missouri. My job is to help neighborhood organizations go through the capacity mapping process within their neighborhoods. We use the Kretzmann/McKnight books. I am interested in any helpful information you can pass along to me. We're having a slow time getting things started here. Some of the neighborhoods are gung ho and providing excitment for us. We've had some success stories as well. However, I want to make sure I can help these organizations in the best possible way. I am a returned Peace Corps Volunteer with over three years of experience in Central America (PCV in Guatemala in public health nutrition). I am a newly hired Neighborhood Outreach Coordinator for the City of Pico Rivera's (California) first ever Neighborhood Outreach Program. Our goals are to increase communication between city government and residents and develop neighborhood associations. Any info is greatly appreciated.

I supervise the Nieghborhood Preservation section of Overland Park city staff. We deal with neighborhood and community building as well as educate about and enforce the property maintenance codes and some of the zoning ordinance requirements in the city. We assist with the startup of new neighborhood organizations and support existing organizations and homes asssociations.

I am a family physician puruisng another residency in preventive medicine. I am interested in adolescent health and particularly how providers of (traditional) medical care, social services, and mental health services are or should be integrated.

I am the Public Information Officer for the local health dept. in Fort Worth Texas. We are currently refocusing our efforts to the neighborhood level while the County Health Dept. will take care of disease control, epidemiology, and primary prevention throughout the county. Our direct services will be composed of Animal Control, Consumer Health Protection, and a division of Information (Vital Records)/ Assessment (statisticians)/ and Outreach (teams of public health nurses and CSAs). We will also have a health promotion team.

Most importantly, I am a husband and dad of two. I am also a trainer, consultant and author in the areas of community health promotion, community youth development and community building. My two major projects are Directing CommuniTeam, Inc. and Directing the Learning Center at the Center for Living Democracy.

Participant in a Healthy Communities group in Marlboro County, SC, currently receiving our training in community mobilization et al. In 1998 we will be developing our community project. Many of us in that group are also involved in ths submission of a Turning Point grant application to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and Kellogg Foundation. Out of 525 initial inquiries nationally and 125 semi-finalists, we are invited to apply for the grant.

I am employed as a community addictions officer developing prevention strategies for communities within the largest region in the province of New Brunswick.

I was recently named director of Downtown/Dickson Enhancement Project, Inc. in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The primary goals of the project include planning improvements in the public areas of the downtown, i.e., sidewalks, lighting, landscaping as well as developing a comprehensive advertising and promotion plan to support the businesses.
