Community Tool Box: Supporting the Medical Reserve Corps The Community Tool Box was honored to receive the 2013 Outstanding National Partnership Organization Award from the Medical Reserve Corps. Headquartered in the Office of the U.S. Surgeon General, the Medical Reserve Corps is a national network of local groups of volunteers committed to improving public health, emergency response, and resiliency of their communities. The Community Tool Box helps support technical assistance for the Medical Reserve Corp’s 200,000 members, including supports for strategic planning, community assessment, establishing community partnerships, and recruiting and retaining volunteers. The MRC’s work in communities nationwide necessitates the ability to provide supports at scale. We are proud to play this role in supporting these critical efforts to support public health and emergency response for communities across the nation.
