Question: Is there a list of key descriptive words to use in writing a grant? Some of us are new to writing and having a good descriptive database of words may help us jog our brain of what we really want to say. Thank you,
Answer: Community Toolbox does not maintain such a list, and we do not know of such a list. Most of the time, the key words are are either obvious or very difficult to discern because each grant/contract source has its own jargon. Read the grant guidelines carefully and don't hesitate to ask the organization offering the grant (or contract) for clarification of any priority statements that you do not understand. That will help not only you but all applicants, because most grant processes require that all applicants be informed of any additional information the granting organization gives out as a result of questions it receives.
