Please tell us a little bit about yourself:
I am a RN working for the past 13 years in the Burn ICU of the Massachusetts General Hispital. My passion is end-of-life-care and I have worked per deim as a Hospice visit nurse for the pasr three years. I am a board member of the Massachusetts Coaliation for Compassionate Care and also a founding member of a coummity coaliation called Pallaitive Care Coalition of the Merrimack Valley. My involvement in end-of-life has been a source of much growth for me personally, professionaly and spiritualy.
How have you used the Community Tool Box to support your work and make a difference?:
I have found the articles and how to guides wonderful in my attempt to pull a community coaliation together. I am a nurse, I have never done such work, but this website makes it possible for me to feel like it is possible to surmount the difficulties of placing three hospitals, two hospices, two family health centers and representives from several other agencies at the same table, rise above territorial and political issues and find a common path to our shared goal of improving the care we give to the dying. I thank you for all your efforts.

I do not believe in re-inventing the stone as it were, but firmly believe in giving credit where its due and you deserve it in bucket loads!!! Been great talking to you, bye for now

The Community Development Foundation is a small group working for the main part with Indigenous Australians. The current project is to establish how to encourage more Indigenous parents/carers to participate in schools and to assist with their childrens education. In doing so the CDF works with the parents to obtain postive outcomes for students. We work in the areas of: 1) education 2) justice 3) commerce and trade and have 4) some federal funding.

I am a nurse and immunization program manager at Grand Forks Public Health Department. I am also coordinator of the Greater Grand Forks Immunization Coalition. I have seen presentations at several national conferences by the Community tool Box.
How have you used the Community Tool Box to support your work and make a difference?:
I use information from the Tool Box to help in my leadership roles. I find your excellent information to be most helpful . I was unable to contact you through your website except to register as a guest. The link you provided didn't work for me. I am hoping you will be able to answer my question from this avenue. Our department does yearly strategic planning. The divisions don't work real well together. I have been gathering information on team building from your site. It is very good and I hope I can do it justice! What I am looking for are some examples of bonding activities that don't take a significant amount of time. Our strategic planning sessions last one day and time is precious. Would you know of any activities we could use to build team bonds? Thank you for your time, your site, and your consideration. It was in the module Health prevention/promotion, target group specific implementation strategies that Mr. Hans Saan introduced the tool box to us. We all were impressed with the user friendly approach and the amount of very useful information and guidelines. There was one remark from the group: gender was not mentioned as being an important determinant when looking at target groups and community approach. We did not go trough the whole program so it is possible that we overlooked it. I mailed you address to my previous work place in Zimbabwe. I am wishing you good luck. regards Nolly Verbeek
