The Community Development Foundation is a small group working for the main part with Indigenous Australians. The current project is to establish how to encourage more Indigenous parents/carers to participate in schools and to assist with their childrens education. In doing so the CDF works with the parents to obtain postive outcomes for students. We work in the areas of: 1) education 2) justice 3) commerce and trade and have 4) some federal funding.

I am going to work/read the Ctoolbox over the january period. You appear to work in a similar way to CDF and I am hoping that we have found a common bond as the CDF is both successful but alone in Western Austrlaia in its methods.

It was in the module Health prevention/promotion, target group specific implementation strategies that Mr. Hans Saan introduced the tool box to us. We all were impressed with the user friendly approach and the amount of very useful information and guidelines. There was one remark from the group: gender was not mentioned as being an important determinant when looking at target groups and community approach. I am an instructor/researcher at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Balamand. I teach the "Understanding the Community" course for students of majors other than those of Health and Development. I conduct research in illiteracy and health awareness.

CTB proved over and over again that it is a great resource for both teaching and conducting community-based programs. I refer my students to CTB as the first choice for resources relevant to our work.

Hello Renee Boothroyd! I recently was the State Director for Public Health Education in the Health Services Deputy area of the South Carolina Dept. of Health and Environmental Control. I have been intrigued by the Kansas Workgroup's Community Evaluation effrots for awhile and I'm proud to say that we've utilized the research in some areas on the health side of our agency. Recently, in January of this year, I decided to take an opportunity to explore the use of my experience and training in health promotion and education and apply this in the environmental side of our agency. A great deal of education and outreach efforts are bing made across three media (i.e., air, land and water). As I have begun discussions within my area of air quality, I am sharing information about evaluating the work we will be doing and how important it is to track our efforts. As a part of this, I am sharing this website with others in environmental education and outreach within and outside of our state.........

I've been working in the community of Papakolea on Oahu for a number of years. I'm a single mom (12 yr. old dtr.) I work as a community health worker for a medical center in Honolulu. Like many of us, I wear many hats in the community. I have a passion for people especially children. I like to be involved in postitive changes in our community and the Hawaiian community at large. Currently serves as president of the Papakolea Community Assn., treasurer of Kula no na Po`e Hawai`i (Papakolea educational NPO) and lately a member of the Papakolea Community Development Corporation (PCDC). PCDC is in the process of applying for our NPO status.
