Good question. I looked through a few sections of the toolbox and didn't come across model letters. You might find Chapter 7, Section 6 on ways to involve influential people to be helpful. Some general things to keep in mind -- be able to clearly state your organization's mission, be able to articulate why it is important to the individual/organization you are reaching out to, be able to say how their involvement/contribution will make a difference.
