I'm a member of a small non-profit organization hoping to address community health and development problems of a small, isolated community in the Navajo Nation. Approximately 40% of residences lack electricity and running water. Un-employment is high, alcohol and drug addiction are problems. The nearest health providers are over 50 miles away. The residents of this community are great people with huge hearts and they deserve much better than what they have.

Hi there! Your site is wonderful! I was referred here as part of my course "Community Health Promotion", leading to Bachelor of Nursing-Athabasca University. After browsing the site, I feel so inspired and hopeful about change in the world to make things better for all. My focus for this course will be the care of children, specifically injury prevention. I think this site will help me in completion of assignments and program planning for this community. Thank you for the excellent resources. Stay safe and be well:-)

The VMOSA powerpoint in the Community Tool Box is being used as the foundation to begin the strategic planning process with our Board of Directors. It is a super time saver to educate board members about the process and will help us focus on identifying strategies to fulfill our mission. Slides could easily be revised to fit our organization. Thank you for making this resource available to the public!
