I will likely adapt some of this for the Government context / perspective, but a lot of what I have read on your website applies beyond community organisations already, so will prove very helpful as I develop my thinking on strategies in general. If my work progresses further, I may adapt some of the slides and handouts for use in Workshops.

I’m a VISTA serving with my local Health Department (Erie, PA) to create a food council for our region. It is a really big job. Initially, a VISTA was supposed to support a full-time coordinator, but our funding fell through and it all became my job. In one year, I had to figure out who the stakeholders were, what they were up to, convince them to work together, create a coalition, support the creation of an organization - leadership, mission, by-laws, operating procedures for the council at large and three working groups, and promote the group within my community and to policy makers, all with minimal professional experience to my name.
How have you used the Community Tool Box to support your work and make a difference?:
The Community Toolbox held my hand throughout my whole VISTA year. I encourage all my members to reference it when they aren't sure of their next steps. The part about developing leadership has been especially helpful because I wouldn’t have considered it on my own. Soon I'll exit service, and my members all seem confident and prepared to take on the next steps without me, which is how a VISTA defines success!

Please tell us a little bit about yourself:
I am Professor Emeritus of Osaka Gakuin University. I have been operating "TRIZ Home Page in Japan" as the Editor since 1998. TRIZ is a Methodology for Creative Problem Solving based on systemic thinking and originally developed in Russia since 1940s. It was used in the field of technology at first, but recently in business and social fields as well. Now I am leading WTSP (World TRIZ Sites Project) for building a comprehensive Catalogs of TRIZ-related sites (in a wider sense) in various countries and in the whole world.
How have you used the Community Tool Box to support your work and make a difference?:
During the survey of TRIZ-related sites I have just encountered your Web site, and am much impressed. I would like to include your site as a site worthy to recommend in the whole world, as showing a practical and systematic way of applying creative problem solving methodologies to various social problems.
