Dr. Tatiana Bustos (she/her) has over 10 years of experience in applied research and community engaged evaluations focused on public health. She received her Ph.D. in community psychology with specialized training in program evaluation from Michigan State University. She has a MA in community psychology, MS in general psychology with certifications in qualitative research, Results Based Accountability and as an Implementation Support Specialist. As a community psychologist, she applies participatory and equitable research and evaluation methodologies to design and implement projects that promote the inherent strengths, capacities and opportunities of communities for social change. Her work includes projects focused on implementation of public health interventions, program development, initiatives for environmental justice and health equity. In her capacity as a researcher, she aims to bridge science with practice for the benefit of enhancing the engagement of communities throughout research and evaluation projects, programs, and initiatives.
She has authored several blogs and peer-reviewed journal articles on community partnerships, book chapters that offer new directions for partnership engagement in evaluation, and trainings that expand on the practice-based aspects of doing community centered work in partnership with community members from marginalized backgrounds. In addition to her scholarship, she serves on the American Evaluation Association and is an associate editor for the American Journal of Evaluation, Journal of Multidisciplinary Evaluation, and Global Journal of Implementation Research and Practice.
