That said, when choosing a book, I think it really depends on the style of organizing and the community in which you are organizing, as well as the theory of change being followed. It's all about fit. One book that is somewhat popular in our area is titled, "Consensus Organizing: A Community Development Workbook: A Comprehensive Guide to Designing, Implementing, and Evaluating Community Change Initiatives" by Ohmer and DeMasi. I think people like this one because of the use of Alinsky as a starting point (Alinsky organizing is popular in our region - Central CA - as many subscribe to this theory of change).
