How have you used the Community Tool Box to support your work and make a difference?
This tool box has assisted me to empower my counterpants to be good leaders and supervisors in service delivery, community mobilization, conducting training, writing reports. It has made me possess import information and skills that has made many admire me. I have shared with many especially those in community health and development. I have assisted some who admire to join training in community health and development though have not due to financial constrains but do refer the materials during their work. I am planning to assist some of the students who are in trainings and luck materials for reference - to buy books or get browse internet. I have decided in the future with possibility to start u a community project in my area as many people suffer. I have supported through advice the youth in my area in developing a youth association by themselves. They hare prepared to get a loan that will assist them do something as unemployment is rampant in my community. Unfortunately, they did not manage to get the loan yet as there was corruption in the Youth Enterprise development fund, eight million or billions stolen by the officials. I try to communicate to them even without being there physically. They have maintained their association despite being young and discouraged where they collect a few cents. They await the fund to be relaunched for their project. They requested me to plan to train them on development of the business before they get the loan and how to sustain it. I will use the same materials but will also use my cash to print for them the first materials from the CTB before they help themselves. This has led to improved behaviour in our community due to reduced idleness of the youth especially males. This toolbox will assist me also to integrate the health issues like HIV/AIDS in the youth association. I have used the toolbox in Merlin - UK international a relief agency in North Sudan dedicated in serving the needy Darfurians. Especially empowering the national staffs to train, supervise and conduct meetings, do community evaluation. etc, I left the organization due to family issues but I am grateful to the Community health issues they attend to in the most difficult environment. They have endured all the hardship until their cash was taken at gunpoint twice in the same week. They run a PHC and RH. We trained staffs who are able to to the work with minmal support from the expatriate. This I have seen most times whenwe relocate to Kartoum due to escalating insecurity, we leave them behind and they work tirelessly with remote support from the expat staff in Khartoum. Whenever we are the sub Base in Nyala -South Darfur, most times we were unable to move out due to much kidnapping and security threats in the area of operation at field sites. The nationas we empowered were able to move and coordinate untill the risk also involved them making them be at base too. They could also do remote management through phones, letters, and meetings at end month. If I had power to participate, my prize would go straight to them as Merlin former staff appreciating the kind of work they do in difficult situation but with transition and kind of sustainability on human resources. Thanks

How have you used the Community Tool Box to support your work and make a difference?
I found this site listed in one of the textbooks we are using, Social History Assessment by Arlene Bowers Andrews. I think the assessment guides shown in the book were great. We are going to do a small community needs assessment in our HBSE2 class and I think the guide will help us formulate it better.
