I am a community group facilitator and my primary function is capacity building and upskilling people and resources within community organisations
How have you used the Community Tool Box to support your work and make a difference?
The Community Tool Box is a particularly useful tool in that I can prepare manuals in a simple language for use by community groups and show them the site so that they can use it as a resource should they require. I have found the Community Tool Box to be excellent and congratulations to those who have and are still putting it together.

I'm a Unitarian Universalist minister currently completing a residency in Clinical Pastoral Education at the Roger Williams Medical Center here in Providence. I have worked with the Brockton Interfaith Community (BIC) and the Organization for Community Leadership Training in Boston.
How have you used the Community Tool Box to support your work and make a difference?
I'm not yet, but I am very interested in your approach. I am working on a proposal to help fund hospital-based support groups for family caregivers that seeks to bring that consitiuency together for 1)psychosocial/spiritual support 2)practical education, and 3)resourcing with other institutions/initiatives/services doing outreach to this community. My own observation has been that families with long-term critically ill members, either in home-care or nursing homes, are isolated from larger community and face sometimes sustained periods of dislocation and change with little, if any, support. In effect, looking at the difficult interface of wellness and end-of-life issues in family and community systems.

I am a life-long activist (can one say that at 30 years old?) who has been involved in political, social, and spiritual actions to raise awareness of the human condition in my various communities. Currently I work for a progressive non-profit.
How have you used the Community Tool Box to support your work and make a difference?
Using elements from previous agencies, tied together with the great layout and informative "dialogues" from Community Toolbox I have generated a "textbook" on how to be an activist that we call "Activism 101" to empower our members to act in their communities as well (the non-profit I work for works throughout Oregon).

How have you used the Community Tool Box to support your work and make a difference?
I'm interested in starting an IC sometime in the future. I am living at TO in order to learn from their system. They've been a community for 35 years. I plan to utilize your website while I'm living here somewhat as a college course. We are currently developing a program under the heading "Community Organizer". I hope to be our first graduate. This is one of the most amazing and informative sites I've ever come across. Thank you!!! Pilgrim

I am a RN working for the past 13 years in the Burn ICU of the Massachusetts General Hispital. My passion is end-of-life-care and I have worked per deim as a Hospice visit nurse for the pasr three years. I am a board member of the Massachusetts Coaliation for Compassionate Care and also a founding member of a coummity coaliation called Pallaitive Care Coalition of the Merrimack Valley. My involvement in end-of-life has been a source of much growth for me personally, professionaly and spiritualy.
How have you used the Community Tool Box to support your work and make a difference?
I have found the articles and how to guides wonderful in my attempt to pull a community coaliation together. I am a nurse, I have never done such work, but this website makes it possible for me to feel like it is possible to surmount the difficulties of placing three hospitals, two hospices, two family health centers and representives from several other agencies at the same table, rise above territorial and political issues and find a common path to our shared goal of improving the care we give to the dying. I thank you for all your efforts.
