We will be looking at it more to see how it can support our work as we move forward. We are less than a year into our community work. Thank you.

I manage and teach at NLCC. The centre is focused on social reform and the pathway to this is literacy as there is a tremendous gap here in a failing national education system which continues to disadvantage the poor and marginalised. Our aim is to start pre-school and young learners centres in communities that have a need and demand for it - using the Jolly Phonics program as the tool for delivery.
How have you used the Community Tool Box to support your work and make a difference?:
We have just identified a community that will be our first branch and I found excellent materials on CBT to help with understanding how to set up a community literacy centre , project design information , project monitoring and evaluation etc. The language used and models presented are easy to follow. To summarize , the power of CBT for me is taking complexed issues and presenting it in clear and workable models for people who want to become social reformers to be efficient , knowledgeable and professional in this endeavour. Thank You.

I am an entrepreneur leading a passionate team of developers to build a community development platform (part social networking site for community developers; part crowd-sourcing site for gathering the people with skills, knowledge, tools, or funding needed to implement ideas; and part project management / team collaboration software). We are definitely fans of CTB and the support/resources you provide to community organizers and would absolutely love to get your feedback on what we've built so far what it might be still lacking. We are currently still in the MVP/Alpha/Pre-Beta stages of our product development. Also, the platform itself has been built to be able to evolve and rapidly iterate as the needs of community developers and organizers change. We're currently on a 1-2 week development cycle, so you're feedback and suggestions will be implement quickly and are very appreciated. Looking forward to collaborating with you to find new and innovative ways to support community developers and organizers.

I work in the school community teaching children, families and staff members healthy living through nutrition education and home cooking classes. I have access to families and due to the work, parents share their struggles. And although healthy eating is the answer to many of them, it is not the answer to all. I find that "compassion" is my greatest asset in listening and motivating them to change. It is not something I was aware of prior to the work but compassion has developed the more I address their concerns.

I am new to Community Tool Box, and since i've found it, I can't stay away! I use this sight for so many things! It helps me with my non-profit organization start-up, My daycare/school business plan, and my Community parenting group 'PARENTING ON PURPOSE' (P.O.P.)...even with raising my kids into young activist!
I share this information with friends, family, and community members! I think this FREE sight is a blessing to those who want to come together and change our world!

Yes, our team has referenced the Community Tool Box when we developed a set of toolkits based on the community-based participatory action research framework and applied it to our workshops on community engaged mapping. This was and continues to be an instrumental website of resources. Thank you.
