I am looking for assisted living quarters for my dying father who insists in living alone in Midland, Texas. He has three daughters and all of us live in Williamsom County. He is 85 years old with glaucoma, arthiritis, heart disease with a growing huge anurism above his erata in his chest. He is a high candidate for sudden death. If we could find some type of senior quarters where there was a condo or an apartment, we might be able to convince him to live what time he has left around his family. He is opposed to any living quarters that would be inside a building with other seniors. He considers that a nursing home and besides, he insists on being able to open all of his windows and see out due to his clostaphobia.

I am the Public Information Officer for the local health dept. in Fort Worth Texas. We are currently refocusing our efforts to the neighborhood level while the County Health Dept. will take care of disease control, epidemiology, and primary prevention throughout the county. Our direct services will be composed of Animal Control, Consumer Health Protection, and a division of Information (Vital Records)/ Assessment (statisticians)/ and Outreach (teams of public health nurses and CSAs). We will also have a health promotion team.

I work with Kansas City Neighborhood Alliance in Kansas City Missouri. My job is to help neighborhood organizations go through the capacity mapping process within their neighborhoods. We use the Kretzmann/McKnight books. I am interested in any helpful information you can pass along to me. We're having a slow time getting things started here. Some of the neighborhoods are gung ho and providing excitment for us. We've had some success stories as well. However, I want to make sure I can help these organizations in the best possible way.
