6. Building Leadership

This toolkit helps in developing a plan for enhancing leadership and its core tasks.

The team will have responsibility for bringing people from different parts of the community (e.g., public health, schools, faith communities) together for better immunizations.

The team will have responsibility for bringing people from different parts of the rural community (e.g., schools, business, faith communities, health and social services organizations) together to promote the academic success of all children, kindergarten through graduation.

The team will have responsibility for bringing people from different parts of the community (e.g., local businesses, chamber of commerce, community college, school board, local and regional government, media) together to creatively address the need for living wage jobs in our neighborhood.

The purpose of the Missouri Access Recreation Project is to increase inclusive recreational opportunities for youth with disabilities and make them equally available to anyone who wants to participate in their communities and schools.

The fifth United Nations Millennium Development Goal (MDG) is to reduce the maternal mortality ratio by three quarters between 1990 and 2015 (UN).  Maternal mortality is “the death of a woman while pregnant or within about two months after the end of the pregnancy” (Center 2).

Often hospitals are just a place that people visit when they are sick, but the Kenyan Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation decided to change that. The Ministry wanted individuals to know that the hospitals belong to the people, and that all people have a right to health.
