Am working with a team of a health educator and PhD Epidemiologist to initiate programs in chronic disease prevention and injury control (eg. violence prevention, unintentional injury prevention, etc...) We are open to any suggestions, etc. We intend to do a community assessment to find out what is available already and where the gaps are and try to get the community agencies work collaboratively to help resolve some of these problems in a prevention mode. Do you know of resources for a good community assessment tool? Do you know of any communities doing any of this work already? Thank you in advance, Colleen C. I'm the coordinator of the Quebec Healthy Cities Network, a 10 years old movement that presently includes 115 municipalities. Our Web site is close to completion and will include, among other things, the just published directory of our network (with a listing of more than 850 community development projects). I am the Director of the Missouri CHART (Community Health Assessment Resource Team). We have been extensively involved in coalition development, community assessment, leadership training, issue prioritization, etc. for the past 3 years. I have a vast amount of information (i.e. a series of 5 manuals on the CHART Process, data resources, community development materials, etc) that I believe would be useful to add to the site. Missouri has a very strong state level partnership whose members include the MO DOH, the hospital assoc. the medical assocs, nursing, universities, - 30 in all, who support the CHART model, and who work through their members to improve health status in Missouri communities. I love this site - I saw your presentation at APHA. As a member of the Coalition for Healthier Cities & Communities in the U.S., I also support the development of one site, and I believe this one is it. Great work - I think you'll see tremendous use of the site, especially once the word gets out to a broader audience.

I'm beginning a new job in a few days - that of Program Director for a local volunteer agency. In order to not walk in on my first day totally ignorant, I hopped on the Net to see what I could find. And my first try was a veritable gold mine! I landed right here! Even though I can't print or download everything (YET!), I've learned much already. I have come accross the Community Tool Box through alumni news. I am a 1987 graduate of the Stene Program in Public Administration. I look forward to networking the resources available to the many organizations in Charlottesville.

I am a research analyst with the Oregon Health Divsion and the Multnomah County Health Department. I am currenly working on a Healthy Start project, and am particularly interested in how to evaluate the collaboration between the County Health Department, community members and agencies, and the community coallition.

I am a Real Estate Broker that has my own office in Marysville,Ks. I have been active in community betterment efforts by working in the remodeling of an old Methodist Church,into a Fine Arts Gallery ( nearly completed after five years ), I am on the city Planning Commission, I am a board member of the Chamber of Commerce and am active in that area, as well as our Travel & Tourism committee to promote more tourism into this area. I am also involved in a few other organizations and keep activly involved there also. I am married (nearly 30 years) and have one grandchild. I am concerned about todays youth and want to help in areas that will help the youth of today and tommorrow. I would like to see the smoking issues and drug issues strongly dealt with. I have two daughters, one (a mom ) is an Insurance agent, Our youngest daughter is a student at KU Med. She is studying to be an Occupational Therapist. My husband works for a Fertilizer Co and Grain Elevator. He has been working there for nearly 26 years. He thinks it's time to retire but I say we are to young yet. Ha Ha. I was introduced to this program today and do have an interest in it. I hope to be of some assistance when working with the different committees.

I am a 29 year old graduate of Agricultural Economics and Extension with a PG Degree in petroleum and environmental Law. I have worked in varius positions as Rural Credit Officer and Community Liason Officer with Commercial Bank and Shell Petroleum Development Company inNigeria respectively I'm presently working in SPDC Nigeria as Assets Manager. I have interest in planning,Implementation and maintenance of Community development projects and or assistance

I am looking for assisted living quarters for my dying father who insists in living alone in Midland, Texas. He has three daughters and all of us live in Williamsom County. He is 85 years old with glaucoma, arthiritis, heart disease with a growing huge anurism above his erata in his chest. He is a high candidate for sudden death. If we could find some type of senior quarters where there was a condo or an apartment, we might be able to convince him to live what time he has left around his family. He is opposed to any living quarters that would be inside a building with other seniors. He considers that a nursing home and besides, he insists on being able to open all of his windows and see out due to his clostaphobia.

I am a senior and Indiana State University geting my degree in communtiy health. I will be graduating in May hopefully there will be a job out there for me!!!
